The Utah PTA encourages parents to make education a priority at home. Here are five steps to help children learn and ensure success in school:
1. Look over all the work your child brings home from school and keep it in a folder. Help your child correct any errors.
2. Keep notes of conferences with teachers, request progress reports and carefully read report cards and achievement test results. Ask questions about these results.
3. Work with your children and their teachers throughout the year.
4. Read to your child. Have your child read to you.
5. Be there to answer questions, listen, advise, encourage and speak positively with your child.
