Halloween Parade and Class Activities

10/22/2011

Our Halloween Parade and classroom activities will be held on Oct. 31.

Halloween Parade: The parade will start at 2:15 p.m. and will wind into the gym where parents will be allowed to watch the parade. Please enter the gym through the west side double doors. It will not be necessary to sign-in at the office. We will allow limited parking out on our playground and ask that extra caution be taken as you arrive and depart.

Halloween Costumes Policy: Just a reminder about costumes for school. The following will not be allowed:

  • No masks or anything covering the face that would block or impede your child’s eyesight. We need to be able to see their faces.
  • No costumes with weapons or facsimile of a weapon will be allowed (swords, guns, knives, etc.)
  • Dress code will be enforced.

Candy Buy-Back: Dr. Christopher S. Johnson, a dentist at South Mountain Dental, will offer a trick-or-treat candy buy-back. Students can trade their Halloween candy for $1 per pounds. Dr. Johnson is giving out toothbrushes and the chance to win an iPod shuffle. Last year the candy was donated to our Utah National Guard deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan and they were so appreciative. They plan on doing the same thing again this year. The trick-or-treat candy buy-back will be held Tuesday, Nov. 1, from 2-6 p.m. at South Mountain Dental, 12288 S. 900 E. in Draper. For more information, parents can call the office at 801-501-0209.

Volunteers: If you plan to help with a classroom party, you are required to be registered as a volunteer. The online application can be found here.
