Is your child’s teacher the best of the best?
Help us honor him or her with the School Teacher of the Year Award. The award will come with prizes from local businesses, a surprise announcement on March 22, a banner with his or her name placed on the outside of our school, and honors at an April 16 Canyons Board of Education Reception and Honors Ceremony, and a May 4 Real Salt Lake halftime.
He or she also will have a chance to be selected as the Canyons School District Teacher of the Year, which comes with additional prizes, Canyons Board of Education Recognitions at the September Apex Awards, and entry into the State Teacher of the Year contest.
Here’s how you can get involved:
1. Download the nomination form at www.canyonsdistrict.org
2. Fill in the form on why you think your nominee should be recognized. Criteria include how the teacher shows that students are making progress, supports the Canyons District vision and goals, and exhibits leadership skills and efforts to promote collaboration, student engagement, and community and family involvement.
3. Print and submit the form to the PTA (drop off at the office) by March 1. The School Selection Committee will consider nominees forwarded by the PTA (up to two) and employees.
4. Watch for information on the March 22 Teacher of the Year surprise announcement.
