Parents of second-graders in the Chinese immersion program are invited to a "Meet and Greet" with Ou laoshi this Friday from 2-2:30 p.m. in her classroom.

Draper Elementary welcomes its new second-grade Chinese immersion teacher, Lindsay O'Rourke (Ou laoshi). She replaces Loretta Eng. Ou laoshi graduated from BYU with a bachelor’s degree in French Studies. Before graduating she completed a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. She was also a student in the Chinese Flagship Graduate program at Ohio State University. She was taught high school Chinese as a graduate student, and volunteered as an assistant teacher to native teachers at the Contemporary Chinese School in Columbus, Ohio. Before accepting her position at our school, she was an aide in Alpine School District's Chinese immersion program.
